To be perfectly honest I did not know Evaristo Dall'abaco at all before my friend Janos Vazsonyi gave the score to me... Or maybe I have heard about him during my school years but I did not remember.
This Italian baroque piece really fit to our repertoir. Two classical guitars with a sopranino still worked...

Adelita by Tarrega
Francisco Tarrega was born in 1852, died in 1909. He was the greatest romantic guitar composer so he had to be Spanish... His shorter pieces like 'Adelita' are the pearls of classical guitar literature.
Adelita is a 'Mazurka' with a beautiful melody. If you have heard it once you will never forget it! Anyone who has ever studied classical guitar should have this piece!

Barrios
What a lovely, romantic guitar music from Paraguay!
Agustín Barrios Mangoré was born in 1885 in San Juan Bautista de las Missiones, in Paraguay and died in 1944. He was a great Paraguayan composer and guitarist. Barrios was the favorite composer of John Williams. Barrios was Bela Bartok's contemporary but his music reminds me much more of Frédéric Chopin's style.
We did this video clip after sunset and before it was growing dark. It means that we had only 30 minutes for all the pieces we wanted to have in this mood... Fortunately the weather was great. Candles around me in the garden of the church. It fit to the romantic guitar music...

Jean-Philippe Rameau (1683-1764)
We did Jean-Philip Rameau's piece called Le Tambourin. My great musician friend Janos Vazsonyi who is the best baroque saxophonist in Hungary played an exellent improvisation at the end of the piece. Its a meditation impro but still in baroque style.
Basically I dont play French baroque music that much. I played only the chordes on my guitar and Eva played the bass. I think it was a good and practical idea playing classical guitar duo with an alto saxophone. One classical guitar was not enough to accompany the sax that's why I decided to do it with a guitar duo. And of course it was easier to me and could better enjoy Mr. Vazsonyi's saxophone playing...
We did a mysterious atmosphere in the church with candles and smoke.

Bela Bartok: Romanian Dances
My favorite Hungarian composer Bela Bartók was born in 1881 in Nagyszentmiklos, Hungary and died in 1945 in the US, in New York. His music is a kind of remix of Central-Eastern European folk music... His music is strong and clear at the same time and shows perfectly the Central-European soul...
Romanian Dances contains six movements. They are simple, easy-to-listen to them for 'un-educated' people and have a very special intimate atmosphere with a great power.
We recorded Bela Bartok's Romanian Dances with my chamber music partner Eva Antal outside of the church last summer in June. Romanian Dances was transcripted for every possible classical duo arrangements so we tried it in classical guitar duo. And it works...
We played Romanian Dances around in Hunary in small villages lots of times and there were couple of concerts when small gipsy kids started to dance to it!! It was a great success!

A nice girl from Brazil linked my Johann Sebastian Bach: Air (BWV 1068 D-major Orchestra Suite). Its our special transcription for a baroque trio: two classical guitars and a sopraino saxophone. My chamber music partners are Janos Vazsonyi on saxophone and Eva Antal on classical guitar. It was really a great fun to play this piece in that church (in Belapatfalva) that was built in the XIII. century. there are perfect acoustics since there are no painting on the walls.
